Troubleshooting Guide
Check this when data connection isn't working
Please check first
- Is the eSIM properly installed?
- Are you abroad or have you turned off airplane mode?
- Is cellular data set to the eSIM line?
- Is data roaming turned on?
Part 1
Check Cellular Data
Step 1.
Go to Settings > Cellular
Check cellular data settings

Step 2.
Tap 'Cellular Data'
This is the menu to select data line

Step 3.
Select the eSIM line
Set the eSIM for overseas use as your data line
tip
If the cellular data line is set to a line other than eSIM,
data won't connect.

Part 2
Turn on Data Roaming
Step 1.
Settings > Cellular > Select eSIM line
Go to eSIM line detailed settings

Step 2.
Turn 'Data Roaming' ON
This must be turned on to use data abroad

What is Data Roaming?
A feature that allows data usage by connecting to overseas networks. It must be turned on when using eSIM.
Part 3
Check eSIM Line Activation
Step 1.
Settings > Cellular > Select eSIM line
Go to eSIM line detailed settings

Step 2.
Check if 'Turn On This Line' is ON
If it's OFF, change it to ON

Part 4
Reset Network Settings
Step 1.
Settings > General > 'Transfer or Reset iPhone'
This menu resets network settings

Step 2.
'Reset' > 'Reset Network Settings'
Note that saved Wi-Fi passwords will be deleted

Warning!
When resetting network settings, all saved Wi-Fi passwords will be deleted.
If it still doesn't work?

Restart iPhone
Simple but effective method
- 1.Press and hold power button and volume button simultaneously
- 2.Slide to power off
- 3.Turn on power after 30 seconds

Toggle Airplane Mode
Refreshes the network
- 1.Turn on airplane mode in Control Center
- 2.Wait about 10 seconds
- 3.Turn off airplane mode

Manually Select Carrier
Try this when auto selection doesn't work
- 1.Settings > Cellular > Select eSIM line
- 2.Tap 'Network Selection'
- 3.Turn off 'Auto' and select an available carrier
